Making the Most of Your LinkedIn Headline

To help build your network with the most relevant contacts, it’s important to be as specific as possible in your LinkedIn headline; making it clear who you are, what you do, and what you’re hoping to gain from the platform.

As well as creating a clear image of who you are, it’s also important to write a headline that shows why you’re special, and that encourages other professionals to actually reach out to you, instead of just accepting your connection request.

Instead of setting your headline to something vague like ‘Jobseeker’ try something along the lines of: ‘Life Sciences Graduate | Winner of X Award 2020 | Seeking a Clinical Research Associate Role.’ Remember you’ve only got 120 characters to play with, so be clear, concise and compelling.
